Just watched Dracula's Daughter from 1936 or so, part two of the Universal Dracula "Trilogy". This movie starts with Von Helsing having just killed Dracula, played by a stand-in for Bela. The movie was good, but too much romance which seems like a staple in American vampire flicks. Dracula starts in Transylvania and moves to London for the finale. This movie begins in London and moves to the land of The Borgo Pass....
This movie had Edward Van Sloan return to play Dr. Abraham Von Helsing again. A good choice. The Vamp's human enabler was evil, calculating, and manipulative and played by Irving Pichel. A proper villain, tall, dark, mysterious, and manipulative. He should have played Dracula in the original or instead of Lon Chaney as Alucard. A Cheers! of Mexican beer for these two actors of yesterday.
LOB-29 You sweating me yet Jake? And well you shouldn't, I was pitiful this month. Just a sad performance.
October is fucking nigh.

First I watched Strigoi a British-Romanian horror comedy about vampires. This was an awesome movie. It has a lot of little funny moments, some nice cinematography of the Romanian countryside, really good gore, and this complex story going on that talks alot about Romania attitudes and history in the 20th century. This was a surprisingly awesome movie.
Afterwards I watched Lars Von Trier's Antichrist starring William Dafoe. Man this was a boring, pretentious movie. The cinematgraphy of the woods was nice and there was one good jump scare ,but I just found myself so bored. It doesn't help that the characters are extremely unlikeable.
Probably my last movies for this month's competition and looking forward to next month.

So I watched UHF from start to finish. Nevermore. My computer self-rebooted tonight, shutting down for five hours. So I missed the California deadline to acquire one more point. I watched it for the principle of it all. I failed to finish this movie more than a half dozen in 23 years.
It is now 2:16 AM. I opened and drank a Modelo Especial for the man who whooped my ass. Still 2:16. Cheers! JAS.
