I thought the final was a bit lackluster. Bill being not a nice guy is fine. I think having Sam as a bad guy was too much. He's always been a moral person on the show, it didn't ring true to me when he just becomes a villain and shoots his brother. Also there are just too many supernatural beings. It's more rare to be a human it seems. We have the shape shifter, vampires, werewolves, fairy, were panthers and now a witch. Just too much IMO. Really in the show how is the shapeshifter any different than the weres ? They turn into normal animals. Sam could just look at a wolf and turn into one, plus anything else so he's really more powerful.

I just finished catching up on this season and I thought it was the worst one so far. Sometimes I'll be watching True Blood and I'll think, "I wonder why so many people love this show?"
I mean, I like it, but there are a bunch of people who are nuts about it. After this season, I like it even less. I wanted to enjoy this show cause everyone likes vampire stories, and I really like the present day take of vampires being a minority population, but man, if I never saw another season I don't think I'd miss it that much.
The show has some really horrible acting. Sometimes I wonder if it's just bad actors, or if they are mean't to look like bad actors? Like everyone else said all the different characters aren't menacing or intriguing enough for me. The plotlines are kinda shitty to me as well.
I wanted to like this show cause of the vampires, but found myself liking the parts with 'dumb' Jason Stackhouse the best. Really good comedy with that guy I liked.
I also liked the vampire that everyone else liked that got killed in the dungeon. The magistrate or whoever he was. The other vampire I liked was the main bad one this season. I thought that guy played really good in his role. Hopefully some construction crew comes along and digs him out of concrete next season.
I really wish though and thought it would've been cool if he would have died with Eric. Mainly cause I wanted Eric to die. I think Eric is good in his role as a vampire, but I just hate it when shows tease the death of a main character, but they never die. For fucks sake, shows always do that. What's the big deal if one of your main characters die? That would actually get me more interested in the show. But True Blood (and all other shows besides Sopranos) always tease the death but never kill the main characters. I really hate that. They did it last season when that guy with the bomb was standing right next to jason and denotated it. Everyone in the house died, but somehow Jason (who was standing closest to the bomber) survives. Bush league man...
Would it be the end of the world to kill a main character? No way man, you could replace Eric with some other new vampire so easy it wouldn't even be funny. The show would be much better if they killed and replaced the main characters in my opinion.

I am with you on the acting. I never understand when it gets nominations for best acting. At it's best it is a shlocky show, not a show with tremendous acting. I'm starting to get tired of it myself. I've been as crazy over it as most though.
