I like politics and the returns on national election nights, a lot. Only one county in the whole country shows up on a NYT's map as green while the rest are red or blue. The returns in Marshall County, Kansa is as follows: Gary Johnson (Libertarian) 3123 or 66.7%, Barack Obama (Democratic) 1451 or 31.0%, Mitt Romney (Republican) 105 or 2.2%. Check it out here in green, blue, and red. elections.nytimes.com/2012/results/president Click on "Counties" to the left and look for the tiny green dot. A Texas-cold Lone Star Beer Cheers! y Arriba Companeros! to Marshall County, Kansas, and to Gary Johnson for running against all odds because he believes and he cares.

Libertarians usually have a good showing for state legislature here in NH.

That NYT error bummed me. I was all gung-ho for this little angry county in Kansas that was Libertarian to a cult-like degree or something, those numbers were incredible, and they were a NYT error (I root for Libertarians because I am politically GDI, Goddamned Independent, and am socially libertarian, yet a green bleeding heart liberal that is for fiscal responsibility and an adherance to our Constitution). It was so cool to see one single green independent bleep in the heartland of America. It gave me hope of true change.
I think this country would be better off with more political competition. If multiple competing rivals is good for the economic marketplace, for sports, and in the world of cold delicious beer, it has to be good for politics and the country in general. No where in the constitution does it talk of political parties or the none ending reality of the two-power stranglehold on government and Americans lives.
I want FOUR viable and STRONG political parties: The GOP, The Democrats, The Greens, and a Libertarian party balanced by social and economic libertarians.
Drinking a delicious Lagunitas Brown Sugga'. A Cheers! to the independence of voting by the good folks of New Hampshire, and a Boo! Jeers! to Iowa. Corn is overrated, corn syrup is poison, and ethanol is a bust. Iowa does not deserve the luxury it receives every four years. Just good for corn pandering nitwits and liars.
And that is a rant. Cheers! Wulfie to you and your pooch.

The libertarians picked up 2 seats in the Senate I think. I'm not sure what percentage of the vote Gary Johnson got but if it was at least 5% then he'd be eligible for government aid with his campaign. As small of a grant as it is it could make a huge difference in making Libertarians more viable as a 3rd party in 2016.
