IS THE DARK NIGHT THE BEST COMIC MOVIE ( IN SPITE OF THE WEIRD DEEP VOICE THING) EVER OR IS THAT TITLE IN THE HANDS OF IRON MAN?

not saying you are doing this...but it came to my attention many people have the "I thought Iron man was great till I saw Dark Knight" attitude. I hate when people do that. Just because a movie is great doesn't mean all that came before it suck balls. Iron man still rules in my opinion but is different and hard to compare to The Dark Knight.

I'M IN NO WAY OFFENDED, I WAS TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO MAKE STATEMENTS PRECISELY LIKE THE ONE YOU MADE. IT'S ALL ABOUT DIALOG. TO TELL THE TRUTH I THINK THE RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER KICKED ASS, AND EVERYONE SAYS THAT MOVIE SUCKED. THIS IS NO ATTEMPT TO FLIP-FLOP I JUST WANT INPUT. BY THE BY, IRON MAN WAS FIERCE!!! IT IS MY CONTENTION THAT THIS REINVIGORATED RIVALRY BETWEEN DC/WB AND THE NEW MARVEL STUDIOS IS GOING TO BE A HELL OF A ROLLER COASTER RIDE FOR COMIC AND MOVIE FANS ALIKE.

I loved both movies. I liked Dark Knight more, I think it was one of the best movies I've seen this year. I'd say Ironman was one of the best superhero movies too. Like Loser Boy said, I hate that some people now say Nicholson's Joker sucked. I loved Heath's Joker, but that doesn't mean Nicholson's wasn't great too.

You know I don't own the FF movies but I would actually pick them up just to have them. I liked the Silver Surfer one better than the first one (still wish Galactus was more than a cloud) but over all it was fine. I even ended up really like the new Hulk after I thought I'd hate it.
Hell I watched Daredevil recently again-which I own. It has it's flaws but i still like it.
Worst one ever? Catwoman! I actually went to see it in theatres (I worked at one at the time and got in for free). This will probably be followed by Elektra. Although I heard Ghost Rider really sucked-couldn't bring myself to watch that one.
Gems people usually miss? Constantine and Hellboy went way beyond what I thought they were gonna be.

Ghost rider was one of my favorite comics when I was little so I would enjoy a movie based on it no matter how horrid it was.

Galactus was a cloud? What the freaking fuck?
I loved both Dark Knight and Iron Man, but Iron Man stole my heart. I love me some AC/DC!
And Wulf, how did ya like that Ghost Rider movie? I havn't watched anything with Nicholas Cage since Leaving Las Vegas or Vampire's Kiss.

I actually liked it a lot. I like Nick Cage a lot more now too since finding out he was a Ghost Rider fan before doing the movie. In fact, he has a Ghost Rider tattoo that they covered for the movie. I'm really looking forward to the next one, especially if they incorporate some of the new story line into it.

I lied. I watched Bad Leuitenant: Port of Call New Orleans.
So if Ghost Rider ain't a turd sammich like The Wicker Man 2.0, I guess i'll watch it.
I was too young to read the 1970-80s Ghost Rider, but I did read an issue of it back around 1982 or so when I was about eight in a grocery store.
I loved the 1990s series for the first dozen issues, but Marvel fucked it up with the cross-title storyline Midnight Sons (I believe, you can correct me Wulfie, I don't mind). Texeria's art was right up my alley. Dark, lots of cross-etching, and thoroughly modern at the time. Those were good times.
I still looooove good comic book shops.
Wulf, find yourself "Y, the Last Man on Earth" and "Maus" and "Maus 2". The former is the only comic that ever made me flinch (only one book has done that to me, the "We are the dead" part of 1984). No horror movie has ever made me flinch. The latter two are the only graphic novels that ever made me misty-eyed.
And Groo. If you didn't read it in the day, its great for non-stop chuckling. Good stuff.

I was living with Troy and Neal when Groo was in it's prime and read them regularly since they came in Troy's sub. at the comic shop.
In the 70s I didn't actually read Ghost Rider, I would pick them out at the grocery store and ask my Aunt to read them to me when she baby sat us. Thinking back, I'm actually a bit surprised my mother would let me pick a book like that at my age.

I had no idea you knew them back then. Are they your kin?

Troy and I were in school together. He was my best friend until we lost touch. Fortunately Neal tracked me down on myspace a few years ago but my health has been on too much of a downward slide to get down there and visit much.
