Watche the Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane which I thought was a very good film. Jody Foster and Martin Sheen do great jobs playing their character. That being said I don't know if maybe times are different or what ,but if the people came into my house and did the things they do in this movie they'd be on the opposite end of ball bat. i saw that movie to and don't forget even though weird stuff happens but don't forget jody's character is trying really hard not to draw attention to herself

Watched Gosford Park which was more of a modern take on the whole murder mystery by Robert Altman. Pretty good movie I loved all the little references to older mysteries.

Watched The Sword of Doom which is a really good samurai film from the sixties. One thing that bugs me though is that everyone keeps thinking he's evil when he doesn't really do anything wrong. His dad teaches him that the way of the sword is most important ,but turns against him, the one old man he kills asks for death so he gives it, and everyone else he kills attacks him.

Watched The Children of the Corn for the first time. Was sort of let down the parts with the actual kids were good ,but the effects were pretty bad and so was the main character's acting. The part where Issac came back was awesome though.

I've never watched Friday the 13th Parts 5,6,9,or 10. Seen the rest including the remake on it's premier night a few years back. It sucked bad.
Never into the Tommy character, but to celebrate the holiday, I'm watching Part 6, Jason Lives right now. So Happy Friday the 13th ya'll, and Cheers! St. Arnold Santo is good stuff!
EDIT: Good movie with good meant to be fun and funny moments, and now one of my favorite Jason movies. Good times.
Drinking a Left Coast Hop Juice Double IPA, and goddamn it is hoppy! From San Clemente, CA where I drove to once to visit the birthplace, grave, and Presidential Library of one Richard Milhouse Nixon whose mother was a saint. I mean the following, this Cheers! is to old Tricky Dick for bringing out the best writing of Hunter S. Thompson who kicked you before you went down and kept kickin' away while you were down! My favorite horrible president, Salud, Senor Presidente.

Watched Bad Company a really good and realistic western from the 70s starring Barry Brown and Jeff Bridges. This movie inspired the band Bad Company's name.

Watched Drive which I thought was a great film and highly reccomend. It starts out slow to build up the character ,but man it picks up the pace. The combat and chase scenes in this movie are great and good respectively. Again I highly reccomend this movie.

Watched the original Monte Walsh which I didn't even know existed until a few weeks ago. It is a western about the beginning of the transition period and stars Lee Marvin and Jack Palance. I thought this was a really good movie.

Watched Shinjuku Incident a movie starring Jackie Chan about trying to carve out a place for immigrants in Japan. It was considered a more dramatic role for Chan and was big news when it came out. Overall I'd have to say it was good ,but not great.

Watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre: A Family Portrait which was a documentary from 1988 with interviews from Gunnar Hansen, Edwin Niel, Jim Siedow, and John Dugan. Leatherface, the Hitchhiker, the cook, and Grandpa respectively. It was pretty interesting and from the interviews it seemed like a case where all these elements just came together to make a great movie. It really seemed to bug Gunnar that he'd be most remembered for this and there were three interesting details. When Leatherface cuts himself the reaction was real because Hansen felt the heat from the chainsaw burn the metal protector and saw the fake blood squirting out and thought he'd actually been cut, the cook had trouble hitting Sally and making it look real so he was finally convinced to just her hard legitimately, and one of the reasons the gore looked so good was because the guy doing it was a plastic surgeon and not a special effects expert so he'd had more then enough experience with the real deal.
I enjoyed the documentary and it seemed that while they were proud of being apart of the movie they were bugged that it was the only thing they'd be famous for.

JAS, that is a good documentary. I will recommend a few more down the line, but not now. I'm tipsy as they used to say. Just watched the prequel to Ichi the Killer. Should have been animated or if not a bigger budget was so sorely needed. I am calling this a near disaster of a film. Only watch this if you are an Ichi fan. I liked it, but..... well goddamn, it was a terribly made movie from lighting to acting, etc. The worst Japanese movie I somehow have liked. Didn't want to get drunk. I chose two lagers to drink. Lagers usually mean low alcohol. Weeeeelllll, I drank a Shmaltz Brewing Company Blockhead. An Imperial American Bock. I drank it side by side with a Bourbon Barrel Aged Blockhead. The first beer is 10% alcohol by volume, the second is 10.83%. U S A ! U S A ! U S A ! U S A ! U S A !

Watched Cropsey a documentary about how an urban legend on Staten Island that turned out to be true when kids really started to go missing. Have to say it was interesting and creepy, but in the end there was no real answer. Some are convinced that Rand the suspected killer was part of a satanic cult, other's are convinced the real killer used him as a scapegoat and purposely relocated the body so he'd get convicted and they could get away with it, and another theory was that he and his groups just molested them and then killed them when they were done.
One thing is for sure Staten Island doesn't seem like a good place to go and had this creepy vibe. There's this forest and lots of abandoned buildings and it's obvious people inhabit both which is creepy. The problem is that I believe any theory is possible ,but I think the Satanic one is the least likely since there was so much mass hysteria about that stuff during the 80's. While there are real satanists they don't really scare me that much and I can't really take them seriously. What does freak me out are deranged people that could be hiding anywhere and someone smart enough to take advantage of a situation.
This had me thinking of how dangerous the woods and abandoned places can be because you never know who or what could be there. There's been a few times where I've searched for someone in my house, family's house, and a friends house. It's freaky when you leave for an hour, come back and you can tell stuff has been messed with ,but not like a burglary where everything is just completely left a mess ,but where a few other things are missing and you can tell even though it's real subtle that stuff has been moved. The feeling that someone trying to harm you could be anywhere is not a good one. Now that I think of it the vibes I got from this movie remind me of the end of the original Halloween.
Anyway I reccomend this as a watch and it really got me thinking these ideas could be used in a horror movie.

Watched The Local a film from 2008 directed, written, produced, and starring Dan Eberle. It's about a drug carrier who barely makes enough to survive and I found it to be a highly uneven movie. First of all most of the acting isn't very good, Eberle doesn't do a good job ,but in the scenes with his small time drug dealer friend Blueboy he does a great job, and Blueboy played by Beau Allulli does a great job the whole time and the interactions between the two are well acted. Second something I did like about the movie was the gritty depiction of a lowend criminal and how realistically it shows the abysmal conditions are for him and how disgusting junkies can be. Third I really liked the movie had a good soundtrack that just got you excited man, my kind of rock.
Now for the combat scenes. The small shootout scene was realistic and well done, the hand to hand scenes which are the bulk of the movie not so much. Man it's just so bad especially for someone like me who likes the violence to be realistic in movies. Where to begin a dude cracking a dude's neck by slapping him in the shoulder, barely moving a dude's neck and having a cracking sound, ripping a dude's jaw in half with a man's bare hands, and someone getting there neck broken with someone barely stepping on their head.
Overall it wasn't a good movie. When it comes to remakes I think movies that have good ideas ,but don't live up to their potential and this movie is a good example of that. I'd really like to see it get remade with a more competent crew.
