I thought this episode really out "walking" in the Walking Dead. It was like 40 minutes of zombies walking and walking and walking followed by 45 minutes of the people walking in the woods and walking in the woods some more. Really seemed drawn out to me. The zombie kills were cool.

I gave up on the first series about 4 episodes or so into it, and I was hoping the new series would be an improvement.
I'd heard they were getting a bunch of new writers for the second series, after they scrapped most (if not all) the ones from the first.
I may pick up on it, if I hear it picks up.

I loved episode 1 of the first season. It was so much like the book. Then it dropped off every week from there. All the stuff they added or changed was way worse than the actual book. All the characters were just obvious stereotypes. There's so much story to use form the books, why they had to make up their own stuff I don't know.
Anyway, my uncle loved season 1 like most people. He didn't like this first episode he thought it was boring. So it wasn't just me.

i like the series and i enjoyed the season premere alot . while it is true their weren't that many zombie attacks the series has chosen to focus on the character developement and interaction between characters during the seige that you wouldn't get to see in a 90 minute movie . i haven't read the books so it might fall apart for those who have but it worksjust fine for me

I don't mind not a million zombie attacks. There aren't that many in the comics really. The comics are about the people, but I think it's so much better. I just got bored watching the season premier. Just a bunch of walking and poor acting.

Still need to watch the first two episodes. My interest dropped off as the first season reached its end.
This season's writing 'team' sounds like a shaky lot.
The comic is where the best writing's at. It's easy enough to pick up the trades of all the previous story arcs. Start from the beginning, and check out the comics folks. Trust me. The Governor is one bad man.......

Enjoying Season 2 so far. Never read the comics so I cannot compare. The creator of the comic said (paraphrasing) they wanted the show not to be exactly like the comics so you would not know everything that is coming if you were a fan of the comics. I see the logic in that, but at the same time, changing the source material can piss off fans. For example, as a big RE game fan, I did not really understand why the Resident Evil movies did not follow the video games fully (the main character in the RE films named Alice does not appear in the games).

I haven't read the comics either so I can't compare ,but I've really enjoyed the show so far. I think it's just a hard thing to please the original fans ,but keep it different at the same time.
I also hated the Reisident Evil movies.

Neal got it right. It's not that the story has evolved too much from the original source material (which is lighter on action/zombies than you might think, and heavy on character development and how the living are the true 'walking dead').
Simply put, the writing of the comic, it's plot feels more realistic to me than the teevee series which is heavy on stereotypical characters. I don't know half the original band of survivors' names from the first season, but I look forward to the introduction of the characters I learned to care about like Michonne, Tyrese, and Axel to name a few. At this point in the comic, we had seen so much more character development from Dale, Andrea, Carl, Rick, and Glen.
The series is a must-read.

You do know what's coming in the TV series though, or at least you should if you read the comics because the real story is about what humans turn into when faced with this magnitude of disaster. If they are changing that then I wont bother with season 2. The zombies really are the least dangerous thing in the apocalypse.

Cool. I thought about doing WYH motion comics with clips of the interviews.
I thought episode 2 was a lot better than episode 1.
