Not since Gojira/Godzilla do I have as much to say about a movie. Good thing I am short-winded (kinda) at the moment. So I will keep it shortish and start positive, end slightly negative, which comes natural where I stand.
Once Upon a Time in China is glorious. I plan on watching two more in the series soon. And re-watching this.
I heard Jet-Li was a bad-ass a decade and a half ago. I watched, perhaps, his U.S. debut in Romeo Must Die. I have that movie compartmentalized in the same garbage bag of shit where Steven Spielberg's Flintstones, the Wesley Snipes vehicle Passenger 57, and Blackensten reside. At the scrapings of the bottom of the barrel of putrid films that I have suffered through till the Bitter End.
So I have not wanted to watch a second Jet Li film. My mistake.
This movie was great, but it kinda is a nationalistic Chinese vehicle from when Hong Kong was under British rule, filmed in Hong Kong. I don't like muppets, but they sure as hell beat Chi-Coms. This movie made Yanks look like dogs and Limeys look even worse. But still a great movie and the best Kung-fu movie I have seen, yet propaganda.

Ludite, my friend, post more often.
I am watching a movie I love. A comment made me pause the movie, and I want to share.
"Chances are you know more than you think". I think I will apply this to life more often. There is wisdom there. I think.
Okay back to tonight's feature! Cheers! Drinking a Real Ale Sisyphus Barley Wine. ABV 11.2+% and I broke my promise to myself. No more 7+% beers this month. That Mephistopheles caused me to....
A few years ago I gave myself a nickname, "Ham-Fisty". That Mephistopheles sure made my hand "ham-fisty" last week. That means I break things accidentally with no drunken malice or anger. Things sometimes shatter as I handle them. Usually my fault (Ham-Fisty). Last week, it was the fault of Mephistopheles. In June It willl be Avery's Samuel's fault. I know these things.... That is why I am a prophet of beers.
Cheers!

Fido. Small words first. This movie shows a glimpse of why the 1950s were the most bullshit and plastic decade in our history. Gimme the Roaring Twenties anytime. A better class of Americans.... Or the Sixties. In the immortal words of Fredrick Douglas, "Agitate, agitate, agitate". This is a pro-feminist and civil rights movie. Read in to it, betwen the lines. And as a misogynist on the personal level, not the societal level, I rejoice for that. This is the sweetest-hearted black comedy of all time, and the best RomZomCom. Bigger words.... To me this is up there with Night of the Living Dead, ahem, the original, as the greatest Zombie movie ever. This movie has the best actors and actresses in any Zombie movie. This movie gets a 99% rating from me. Timmy's shovel wasn't dirty after he used it. Minus one point. My third favorite zombie is "Big Daddy" in moviedom. Number two is "Bub". My favorite is Fido, and if you live with dogs, you can tell the director does too. Oh yeah, Canadian movie, mofoes! Cheers! LS.... Found my new beer habit, but not my favorite. I have been calling for a craft-made "small" beer or "table" beer for a decade. Just had my second one, and second one made locally, but hopefully permanently. The theme of the beer is a well-behaved fellow traveler, from off-planet..... The time for disclosure is now. If you don't know what I am saying, type disclosure into the search box of youtube. Jester King's 2.9% beer, Le Petit Prince Table Farmhouse Beer. jesterkingbrewery.com/debut-of-le-petit-prince-farmhouse-table-beerLOB-14

I'll be honest I don't think I've seen a movie before the 60s that I've liked.

Watched The Wolves a 70s yakuza film set during the 30's. It was like most of the Yakuza movies I've seen bad fights ,but good soundtrack and special effects.

Watched Brother a Russian 90's film about a man who got out of the army and go's to the big city to meet up with his brother who's become a sucessful contract killer.
Have to say I really liked this movie: the acting, soundtrack, cinematography, and combat were all good. I highly recommend this film.

I jut watched The Moon in the Gutter a French film from the 80's starring Gerard Depardieu. This movie sucks it's just so boring and pointless. It said it was about a man who want's revenge for his sister's rape and resulting suicide ,but most of the movie was just random crap with unlikeable characters. Depardieu like in all the other films still does a good job at playing a menacing figure at times, but goddamned I suffere through this nearly 2 and a half hour movie.

Watched the sequel to Hammer's Dracula series, Dracula has Risen From the Grave. Not as good as the original, but the acting and plot are still better than most horror flicks. Christopher Lee's Dracula is still a vengeful beast of a Lord of the Night. A fun watch.
Had a headache all day long and then I puked my guts out around midnight. Damn, was it a bad cheeseburger? Ug. Better now.
