I love camp style movies and remember finding this one especially entertaining when I last saw it back in 1994, also, back then I didn't know who Peter Jackson was. I did still enjoy it this time around and fortunately it didn't seem to have been edited but I think most of what I originally loved about this movie had more to do with the chemical enhancements we used while watching than with the movie its self. On the up side, this time around, I had a lot more appreciation for the camera work and writing, it really is a well done movie.

I'm a big fan of the movie, always have been. I first found it at the video store back in the day, when there were still local video stores that weren't Blockbuster. I have it on DVD and it still holds up. It is pretty crazy to think Peter Jackson went from movies like this to LOTR.
A really good Jackson movie you might know about is Forgotten Silver.

I love Dead Alive. Good film, funny Zombie movie before the entire world wanted to make funny Zombie movies.

I rewatched this recently, there is so much going on it's hard to pick out your favorite scene. I never noticed how much it resembles a Loony Toons cartoon before, only gone horribley wrong.

I hate the Romance genre. It's for the skirts.
I love RomZomComs. Thats Romantic Zombie Comedies. Great for me.
Dead Alive is the best one of the bunch, and a reason that I have seen every Peter Jackson film but Bad Taste (I will, I will). I love this movie and it IS the bloodiest movie ever, credit due a lawnmower.
My all-time favorite Peter Jackson movie was Heavenly Creatures. I watched it twice on the silver screen when it premiered. It is a painful movie to watch yet artistically a beautiful masterpiece. It's when I sat up and said that Peter Jackson was going to become one of the greats of film. Not a horror movie, but definately has horror scenes within it. Gorgeous and tragic and griping.
Back to RomZomComs, most of ya'll have watched Shaun of the Dead. Two others you gotta watch are Fido and the non-Tobe Hooper movie, Dance of the Dead (Hooper has a wholly different movie by that name). Zombies, prom night, and punk rock! Everytime I watch that movie, a few days are added to my total lifespan. It will make you smile.
