the original is really good, the remake was pretty damn good too I thought. I doubted that the remake would be able to match the chemistry of the original swedish version, but I was pleasantly surprised

Wow, what a movie. I absolutely loved it. I'd even say it was better than the original which I also really liked. Probably the best horror film of 2010.

I know I'm going to sound like a pussy. But for whatever reason, this movie made me cry throughout the whole damn thing. And I don't usually cry during movies. I felt bad for the kids, the whole concept of being a vampire and not having any friends because of it made me sad. At one point I really felt bad for the dad in the movie.
It had incredible kid acting, some of the best I've ever seen. I think it's great film wither you think it's horror, drama or love story. Go see it.

Madman, nine years ago nothing made me cry. I was too much of a man.
As a more "seasoned" man today, I am proud to say that movies, news reports, books, comics, and music have touched me enought to become a bit "shiny eyed" or to even blubber in tears. To me, "tough guys" are full of shit. I know the hardest softiest and a small handful of them have seen prison time. You can't judge a book by it's cover. And I know they are criers at time, I can see it.

it is kinda sad when you think that a child has no future or dreams and can't be a kid and go play at the playground after school. All they'll ever be is just a dead vampire -and not only that, but kids are relatively innocent so if your a kid vamp you gotta go around and murder people. I always thought when they turned that little girl in Interview with a Vampire it was messed up. One thing I have learned over the years is that I can enjoy a film that depresses me cause in a weird way it makes me feel better like I'm really blessed and fortunate, if that makes any sense.

I agree with your sentiments on sad films.
Havn't seen this and I hear it is better than the original. I loved the original. I didn't feel sorry for the little girl. I felt sorry for the old man and the boy that was doomed to grow up into that old man and the next boy that followed in her undead lifetime.
Was the pool scene in the American version? A most excellent scene....
