I saw on a website that there are a bunch of vampire movies coming out, one they mentioned was "Fright Night". I'm a big fan of the original and not really hyped on a remake, so was searching the net and found this...
Well right now the answer to that question is both yes and no. Let me explain. Shock has uncovered that Sony Screen Gems are now shopping around the idea to remake the film "in title only". Which would mean that they don't plan on using any of the material from the actual movie. They just want the name recognition and maybe throw some vampires in there.
Right now it is said that the idea is to take the film into an Amusement Park. Now I'm always a sucker for films that take place in Amusement parks or carnivals so as long as this remake remains "in title only" consider me interested. We will keep you up to date on what happens with this one but at this point there isn't much going on.
Does that make much sense ? Why use the name and make a movie nothing about the original ? Why not just make a movie and call it something new ? Or Fright Night III.

Yeah I really can’t understand that. I guess it’s cool they are making something new but the audience is going to expect a remake of Fright Night.
Fright Night is awesome though. Second one was pretty great as well.

Amusement Park!!!! What is the point in that ? Think about what is the point of using the Fright Night name? Unless already stated it becomes a trilogy.
I really enjoyed both Fright Nights. Just shows how incredibly lazy film companies are. In coming up with a no relation film classic title. Grrr!

Yeah I just don't understand using the name if it has nothing to do with the movie, just call it something else. I guess they figure if they pretend it's a remake it will get more attention, I dunno.

I love Fright Night. My favorite vampire movie of all time. Evil was awesome. I don't want to see any of Evil's other films though.
