That's one of two pictures circulating around the internet, both of very different creatures. I'll bet both were planted by the studio. They have been marketing this thing virally for months. I'm willing to bet they're both fakes.
A friend and I were making fun of this picture last night, because it looks so much like Sin from Final Fantasy 12. In fact, it might even be Sin. There's no way the monster in the movie is going to be this big. It wouldn't rip the head off the Statue of Liberty; it'd swallow the thing.

I have to say that is the god damned funniest monster i have ever seen in my whole life!! Lets make a gentle humpacked whale a crazy monster that tears the head of the statue of liberty and tears down the brooklyn bridge. HAHAHAHA!
the second one is cool, the third looks like a deformed scorpion....love it!! ;D
