www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=10975I don't know I'm curious how someone else would pull off the role. Robert can't play him forever but I think he'll always be remembered as the best. People will always say Sean was the best Bond. Can't play Bond when your 70 some years old. although I'm aware Freddy isn't based upon somebody good looks but there is a physical aspect to it. Also if your going to remake a movie it would be strange to have the guy who was in the original doing it. Maybe that's just me. If they planned on continuing the series I'd prefer to see Englund playing Freddy for as long as possible but they are doing the remake route. I'd prefer they continue the series rather then the remakes but one thing I'm finding out about horror is I can't always have what I want.

First response: Ugh. Fucking ugh.
Second response: The new guy could be good if he does his own thing and has talent. Malcom McDowell could not touch Donald Pleasance as Sam Loomis, but he was very good as his own character. That's the best I can hope for here.

Well in all honestly I'm looking forward to hating this film but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Do you think it would have been possible to just make another sequel instead of a remake ?

Yes but I don't think a sequel would generate the type of money a remake would. Our society is sad now of days. It's all about the almighty dollar.

why does this come as a suprise ?? robert englund is etched in stone as freddie kruger, this is the new remake, if your using the same guy why bother do a remake, the original is a part of horror history, but just like batman or james bond they have those who will never be betterd, but for a new nightmare, iam all for a new freddie! just hope the director does a good job.

Yeah, I'll say Christopher Lee is less known as Dracula then Bela. Then again Christopher had other roles that meant something. He was the Man with the Golden Gun for Christ sakes. As far as I can tell Bela really didn't have that many good parts. Anyhow everyone will remember Englund as Freddy.

I really want to know who steps into the role. Are they going to make him the same character, or more serious or what ? Be weird if they just make him act the same as before only some other guy is playing him.
