This week WYH had a nice little round table discussion of the recent BBC version of Sweeney Todd, and there were some spoilers. Previously they had a round table on The Host, which was very spoiler-heavy. I've been a guest on both round tables and find it difficult to discuss the movies in depth without breaking some spoilers, but I hesitated this time for fear that I might ruin that part of the movie for somebody (though Neal went ahead and revealed it anyway ). How do listeners feel about spoilers in these discussions of more recent films that the show is potentially recommending?

I find it hard to discuss them as well with no spoilers. If people don't like the spoilers though I am sure we can work around them.

I figured I'd ask the other listeners, since they're the ones I'd be bothering with my chatter. I know I tune out if a discussion of something I haven't seen or read is going be spoiler-heavy. However, if no one else cares, then there's no harm in it.

Hard to say. As long as you mention it previous to the discussion I think there is no problem. As far as people wanting to see the movie, if you give away the ending then they might not want to listen.
Why not advertise the movie for the round table ahead of time this way the fans can watch the movie before the round table episode. It will be like a movie of the month club where the listeners can sort of play along.
