www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnkKnvomyjUI got to see an advance copy of this movie today, and I think it's the best animated feature DC has ever done. It's at least up there with Mask of the Phantasm and Starcrossed. Comics nerds will rejoice to see Adam Strange, Wildcat, the Losers and other bygone characters make cameos. It's the story of a time period (50-60's), with ties and parallels to civil rights, space exploration and neo-imperialism, all strung together with the colorful fantasy of DC Comics' icons. It's not as deep as Darwyn Cooke's miniseries, but it's a far better adaptation than I thought it would be. They got away with suggestions of suicide, murder, rape and anti-patriotism that you would not believe could get into an animated film. It's not boisterously adult like an Afro Samurai or anything, but it's significantly more mature than Superman Doomsday, while maintaining virtue through nostalgia and several references to art history and world history. Might call into the show about it if you guys are game.
