French Connection is the movie that rocketed William Friedkin's career, and is considered a timeless classic - watched it (for the 200 th time...) again, and it really is awesome. Friedkin would go on to direct the masterpiece, The Exorcist, but my point relates to The French Connection II. Directed by another powerhouse, John Frankenheimer, the 1975 movie took a lot of flack, but i personally consider it a great flick, where Gene Hackman delivers one of his most powerful performances. Was anyone else "very disappointed" by FC II, or do you also consider it a worthy sequel to the classic FC?
Thanks
