I was listening to an archived episode of WYH, the one on In The Mouth of Madness. In this episode, for the first time, Neal you said something that horrified me: You said that anime is not good, and that Godzilla movies are not good. Generalizations like that bug me, because while a lot of the kids anime they show on TV here is bad, there is so much great anime out there, aimed at all different audiences. And as for Godzilla, he's had a number of bad sequels in the 60s and 70s and whatnot, but they've made new ones up to 2004 and there are a number of really awesome ones. Plus, most of ones made since 1999 are stand-alone films with their own story. Simply put, I'm challenging you to watch one Godzilla film and one anime film that I think may change your mind: Godzilla: Final Wars (2004) and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) (not the 80s one). Totally netflix those. Also, Godzilla: Final Wars is by the director of Midnight Meat Train and Versus, so that might help. This also goes out to Incher, Flea, and anyone else if they haven't seen these. Epic stuff.

Oh man. I know Flea is a big Anime fan, I am not. There have been very few that I could even watch. Spirited Away was a very good movie.
I just never enjoyed Godzilla movies. I have never seen this new one from 2004. I will check it out. It would be cool to get someone on the show who once played Godzilla ;D

In Godzilla: Final Wars, fighter Don Frye is the captain of a ship that battles Godzilla, and he has a katana sword. This freakin' guy, versus Godzilla... awesome? Oh yes. You definitely should check out Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust sometime though, it is one of the most amazing action/horror films ever. Here's the trailer oh yeeeeeah
