Just finished watching Watchmen - The Motion Comic. Never having read the comic, i was absolutelly dazzled, and this has shot up to the top of the "Best Ever Comic i ever read" - watched, in this case... - list. Amazing plot, stinging social criticism (clairvoyance, perhaps..?), absolutelly brilliant. The point of this post is, how can a 2 hour movie do justice to this outstanding masterpiece? I think i understand why Alan Moore doesn't want anything to do with the movie. It'll never be as good, as complete. I'll still watch the upcoming movie with an open mind, but it'll be hard not to feel disappointed, especially with a different ending. As for the Motion Comic, can't recommend it enough. One final thought: who ends up being the "hero" of Watchmen? In my view... Rorschach. How about yourselves?

I just preordered this and the pirate one on Amazon. I am really looking forward to seeing it.
I read the graphic novel and agree that it is amazing. I'll have to think about this questions. All the characters have their flaws and are heros and villains in their own way.

All the characters have their flaws and are heros and villains in their own way. Precisely. Just like life itself. One big grey area. I chose Rorschach only because he's the only one who stands firm on his beliefs and convictions - as twisted as they might be... - to the very bitter end. And all he wanted was to tell the truth - maybe he got to do it, only Moore knows... The only true "superhero", however, chooses to kill him. Food for thought, no doubt...

Rorschach was the only real hero.
I loved the comic itself and I loved the Motion Comic. I couldn't watch the end of the movie. It just didn't look right to me.

I agree with you about Rorshach but it seems like all the "heroes" in that universe were a bit on the dark side. I've never read the comic but the movie interested me in it.
