Without question my favorite from a young age and I still have a few from the early 70s and 80s. I'm wondering though if anyone knows whether or not they made/make a compilation similar to what they do with walking dead.

Yessir, Marvel started releasing "Essential" collections of whole runs of series. Sometimes, as needed in several volumes. One to two inches thick, black and white, relatively inexpensive for the "bang" for the buck.

They've actually started the series up again, I just picked up issue #1 and some previously released publicity issue numbered 0.1. It's being written by Rob Williams with Matthew Clark, Sean Parsons and Robert Schwager doing the art, which is gorgeous.

Yep, but Blaze isn't out of the picture yet. The new story line seems like it will be really good. They've only done the 2 issues so far but I'm gonna guess that there will be some version of 2 ghost riders. I only say that because it seems like Alejandra, the new female rider, is an agent for some kind of cult and the end of issue #1 has Mephisto showing up at Blaze's desert cabin telling him he's doomed the human race and now has to save it.

We're up to issue 4 on this and so far it's been very good. This issue wasn't as interesting as the previous ones IMO but I may just have to re-read issue 3 to see if it ties it together as bit neater. Anyway, this issue brings up one of my gripes about the comic industry and greed, Variant covers. They release an issue with 3 variants plus a blank white for bringing to cons and getting singed or sketched on. Of course collectors want to have every variant at 3.99 per issue; covers now are much better designed to show the art than years ago but still... Anyway, that's not really the part that peeves me, it's that the cover art doesn't even have to have anything to do with the issue it's on or even the story arc as a whole. Example, this is the cover for issue 4: Nothing depicted on the cover has anything to do with the issue, # 2 determined that Blaze could never again be the Ghost Rider so having him on the cover as such is odd, Alejandra can't stand him so having them kiss is also odd aside from it not being in the issue. In fact, the exact opposite happens when Blaze is killed by a shot of hell fire, she removes it and saves him because she feels she owes him that much, but then kicks his ass and takes off when he offers to help her learn to control the rider. It pains me to say anything critical about Ghost Rider because the series holds a lot of sentimental value to me but I seriously said WTF when I finished it and looked at the cover again. Hopefully #5 doesn't send me off to the Marvel offices as a midnight bomber. ;D

Well like ya know, I never read DC, and I grew up with Marvel. They lost me around 1993 because of the multiple cover syndrome and the crossovers that required reading a dozen titles I didn't care about. I figured Marvel was more interested in making money than producing a barely decent storyline.
I read a few comics again now, but I havn't returned to Marvel. I just know that 'cause of Mephisto, Peter and Mary Jane never were, Johnny Storm was torn to shreds, World War Hulk ended on a dud note, Marvel Zombies 3 and on were terrible, and Fear Itself actually has my attention, a bit. Marvel needs to be less greedy.

The new 52 from DC have been great so it's not a bad time to be ant-marvel. Batgirl and Nightwing have been my favorites so far but Batman and Robin seems promising. Super girl has been popular but I haven't read it.
