I loved the movie myself. I thought Cusak was great at playing someone coming unhinged. Originally when I saw it was PG 13 I had my doubts, but it wasn't a kids movie at all. A movie doesn't always needs tons of gore or language to be entertaining.

I'm waiting for the dvd...I like accuracy in my story to movie adaptations. One of my pet peeves.... If accuracy is a pet peeve of yours, shouldn't you avoid adaptations of short stories to feature-length films? Most of them require liberal interpretations to reach 90 minutes of story.

And on the whole, I do avoid them in the theatre, precisely for that reason. No need to spend big dollars on them. But they take a lot of license in the longer adaptations as well, especially King movies.

1408 has just been added to the FRIGHTFEST line-up with director Mikael Hafstrom in attendance to introduce the film and participate in a Q&A session.
