Five year old Belgian beers? No skunkiness?
Watched Scream 4 last night. It was kinda like watching a bad NBC sitcom. A lot of good-looking white people pretending to be funny. Lots of movie references and meta references and "breaking the fourth wall" references. The last half was a little better as it become more like a horror movie. But, as a whole, still kind of crummy. Still not worse than Scream 3 but bad.

Howdy Maple, my good man.
Nope, no skunkiness. Beer learnin' time kids.
Skunkiness, aka "sun-struck" beers are the result primarily of bottling beer in clear or green bottles. Brown glass stops light, clear and green doesn't. Light creates a chemical reaction in the hops changing their fresh tasty flavors to skunkiness (Heineken, Grolsch, etc.). I never buy beer except from breweries that care enough to ONLY use brown glass.
Cellaring beer. Keep them in a box in a closet or something, somewhere cool in your home. Don't use a fridge, the seal in bottle caps shrink over time in refrigeration, and then you are wasting your time because you lose ALL carbonation and risk infections to your treasures.
What beer to age. Never age lagers except for dopplebocks and eisbocks. Ales, never age IPAs or Double IPAs, hops should be enjoyed young in these beers. Never drink a fresh bottle of a Russian Imperial Stout, Barley Wine, or Belgian Quadruple. If the beer is dark and over 8 percent alcohol, cellar it for a year to five or if you really know what you are doing ten plus.
I have about a dozen beers cellaring that are pre-2000 beers, with my treasures being a Thomas Hardy Ale from 1992 (waiting six more years to drink it so it will be 25 years old when I open it), a Thomas Hardy from 1994, a Thomas Hardy 1996 (I had two, drank one a few years back and it was amazing!), and Samichlaus Bier bottles from 1995, 1996, and 1997. Oh and Rogue Old Crustacean Ales (Barleywine) from 1998 and 1999. And on top of that I have four boxes full of beers from the 2000s that are aging.
As a former beer salesman I introduced St. Bernardus Abt 12 to Austin and San Antonio. Ratebeer and Beeradvocate rating of a perfect 100%. The label itself calls for aging up to 15 years. No skunk, just complex and deep beauty.
That nunsploitation flick last night saw murder and much sexuality. I recommend, but not at all a Halloween movie.
Cheers people!

Holy shit, thanks for informing me on beer cellaring. Aging beers for up to 25 years!? LOB, you're the mad scientist of beer drinking. I almost feel guilty now for mostly drinking Mickeys and Pabst. LOB loves his beer like how Charles Barkley loves his chicken.

The reason I hate Mr. Maple is that he makes me smile.
I hate to smile just like Taz circa 1996 ECW. Madman, you are a bastard. I will sue your ass the day my face finally cracks. You have been warned, sir. Cease and desist.
As soon as I get out of here, because a full moon is out (and if it really is a NEW moon, please don't burst my happy ignorant bubble), I'm watching the original The Howling which is one of the all time greatest werewolf movies (Cheers Wulf! Red Stripe is yummy yella beer).
Adios gringos locos! Salud!

Today I had to watch my aunt's place for half a day so to relieve my boredom I ended up watching three Stephen King adaptations.
1.Silver Bullet Which is even better than I remember it being then when watched it as a kid with my aunt. Gary Busey is great now that I'm older and the werwolf still looks good hell it looks scarier at one point when it's de-transforming.
2.Cujo which I'd never actually fully watched. It was pretty good. All the acting is good that fucking dog and the kid deserve goddamned awards. The kid's really convncing and that dog looks so deranged by the end. It starts out slow ,but shows Cujo's slowly getting worse.
3.I then watched Carrie for the god knows what time and it's still good. One thing I noticed this viewing though is how good of an actor is she comes off as a total religious nutjob.

Watched Return of the Living Dead. I was surprised how great it was. Cranky old farts, talking zombies, and a naked punk chick. Highly recommend it.

I watched Nosferatu this morning which you can stream on netflix. I'd never actually seen more than ten minutes of this before. I was surprised at how creepy some of the visuals still were and at how great the soundtrack was.

The 29th I'm part of a Halloween wedding, there is going to be a big horror marathon afterwards so bring your A game. I've only watched Dagon, Bats: Human harvest, the Dunwich Horror, and Mega Shark VS. Giant Octopus so far. The party viewing should add at least 4 or 5 more to that and since I have Netflix on my tablet I've been tethering it to my phone and watching bits and pieces of movies when the wife and I go out for errands. You guys haven't got a chance, I can almost imagine LOB tasting that victory beer for me now.

"Roll camera, and begin! Nice pussy, nice pussy. Meow."
First words in Shadows of the Vampire. If you loved Nosferatu, follow it up with this movie, trust me. A mockumentary on the making of F.W. Murnau's classic symphony of horror. John Malkovich plays Murnau, and Willem Dafoe plays Max Shreck. Nominated for two Academy Awards.
Edit. I'm almost ten minutes in to the above. Here's the trailer, Sierra is hoppy goodness, Cheers!
One last edit. If you ever get the chance, watch Nosferatu on the silver screen, and I HIGHly recommend watching it with a live musical accompaniment. That's is how I first lost my Nosferatu cherry. I just got kisses from a wolf. It's the little things. Hey Wulfie check out a documentary called "Dogs Decoded". I learned much about human and wolf evolution together, and you and I are the end result. Cheers brother!
LOB watching number 6.
