After two strait defeats I was able to come back and win the December contest so I get to chose the category for this month. Whoever wins this one will get to chose the category for next month.
I chose Japanese movies any Japanese movie is worth one point ,but any Japanese horror movies are worth two points.
Remember, honor system at work. Contest starts now and ends at 11:50 P.M. Caifornia time and that each movie should be at least an hour long.

Watched Ju-On White Ghost which had some very good visual scares mixed in with some good audio as well. There were some funny moments like how it kept showing the ghost with a basketball and how the little ghost boy was trying to outmeow a barking toy dog.
Then I watched Ju-On Black Ghost which wasn't as scary. Using black instead of white made the ghosts less scary ,but there was still some scary audio and the stomach monster was pretty creepy too.

Watched Audition for the second time it starts off lighthearted and almost seem like a non horror movie ,but towards the end the shit hits the fan. You kind of feel bad for the killer at the end ,but at the same she does such a good job playing her part.

I watched Ju-On 2 which was a pretty good movie there was a few scary parts ,but the little boy was alot scarier in the American version, while the woman is scarier in the original Japanese versions. There was some real mind fuck stuff near the end of the movie.

Damn. You are on a mission.
Audition is one of those so very rare movies that unnerved me. Made me question my yellow fever. I also have issues with women in black surgical gear with needles and saws. A really hardcore movie watching experience in my opinion, especially by marrying psychology and brutality with a tad of gore, but unforgetably horrific at moments. A great movie.
Damn. Most movies I plan on watching are single pointers. I start today.....
Bohemia from Mejico is a great yella beer. Cheers!

Yeah it's really well done and despite how brutal she is they still manage to make you feel bad for her by the end of the movie.

Hmm.... I feel about the woman how I feel about the little Hellspawn in Let Me In/Let the Right One In.
As the audition began I felt each woman was hot or cute or strikingly attractive, and the second the mental patient was shown I thought "Fuck they are going to pick THIS one! No! Look at her! She'll chop of your Bobbitt!". And they picked her. I hated her every single moment of the film. She did a great job.

Exactly you know it's good acting when it really gets to you.

Gojira. Godzilla but not the version we saw growing up. The original 1954 version shown in Japan. Great old stuff that looks at the legacy of the atomic bomb, the morality of using science to destroy or kill, and the War's legacy on the post-WWII Japanese psyche.

Watched the Slit-Mouthed Woman which had some good parts and some unintentionally so bad it's good parts. For example the crappy floating effect was pretty hilarious.

Watched Tetsuo: The Bullet Man which was weird because it was a Japanese movie shot in English. Some of the acting was bad ,but the Bullet Man and the soundtrack was awesome.

Watched Revenge a samurai flick from the sixties it was pretty good ,but the characters are pretty cowardly which was kind of the point the guy they consider mad is the only one with any semblance of honor and dies like a man.

Just watched Shogun Asassin. The Shogun is conspired against, his sons conspire against each other, the nobles in Edo conspire agaist both wannabe Shoguns. There is a displaced people in need of a homeland and two of these people are part of a tragic love triangle near the end. One side wins, every group tries to pull a fast one. The displaced people are given a new town which is torched and nearly everybody dies, and a son briefly has a sword fight with his dad whose right forearm falls off but he ignores it as he clutches his master's severed head to his face for like three whole freaking minutes saying this is not true this is a dream, and the movie ends.
Long story short, conspiracies, politics, screw-jobs, and hundreds of dead villagers, all for a stutterer with ambitious help. Damn.

EDIT. Shit, such a whatever the fuck this movie was I got the title wrong. Shogun's Samurai, and Sonny Chiba was pretty cool in it, but not worth a Christian Slater monologue.
Red Stripe good, long confusing movies with too many plot twists bad! Cheers!

Damn. My first Sonny Chiba movie and I either took a chug of beer and somehow missed a castration scene or that is a movie that you need to find the title to and share with us.
I want to smite you sir, but I'm afraid that would be viewed as a slight to ya.
